MJ in the house

Earlier I mentioned ACM was putting on a mini fashion show at the Blanton museum, well, it was a hit! The new art museum held a 24 hour premiere party. We we're scheduled for 2am. I didn't think many people would be there at that hour..whoa, was I wrong! My friend/model for the event, Kristen, and I showed up a little before 1am and the line was wrapped around the building. Pong was rocking in the main entrance to a huge crowd and I instantly was nervous and excited to be part of something the city embraced with open arms. Our event took place up stairs in the contemporary section. We dressed our models downstairs and they held hands (like Ferris Bueller style) all the way up the stairs past the Roman statues to the modern exhibit. As we walked through the museum I heard someone whisper "that must be the fashion show". We arrive and Hope plugged in her little black boom box and selected the best song ever for them to walk to..yes, you guessed it Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough. Even with all the controversy over MJ, I still love Off the Wall. So the boom box is kicking and models are strutting/dancing as they circle the room weaving in/out of the crowd. It was brilliant!
The premise of the show was for us to design with inspiration drawn from the artwork. I choose Ellsworth Kelly's "High Yellow" as my inspiration. I love the colors in this 1960's iconic painting. I tried to match the colors perfectly in my design. I think I did fairly well as shown above by Kristen comparing the skirt color to the artwork. All the other designs were adorable. I didn't get home until 4am..ouch!
